And finally, the line of Charles Albert Eldridge, if this is all correct, reaches its embarkation point, deep in the middle of the thirteenth century, and beginning with the Hobbes family of Romney Marshes, and the Tylman and Holloway families of Snodland.
Note also on this map, Battle in Sussex just to the South West of Romney Marsh. Battle had one of the heaviest concentrations of Eldridges in the United Kingdom.
