Samuel Owen

Llanrwst Market Place in 1905. From: http://www.anglesey.info/llanrwst_photograph_archive.htm

Samuel Owen, the second son of David Owen and Ann Willliams was Hetty Jane Owen’s great uncle and was baptized in the Calvinistic Methodist Chapel in 1829. As can be seen from the record, his father is listed as a labourer:

Samuel married a Mary (1829-????) and they had four children. Samuel worked as a joiner and builder. At some point, the family moved to Ruthin, a logical enough move since it is the county town of Denbighshire. By 1871, Samuel had become a master carpenter. His eldest son was listed with him in the 1881 census, also as a joiner, and had, by the look of it, become his father’s apprentice. They were living by then at 13 Market Street, after which we lose sight of them.

Samuel and Mary had four children, all x1 removed first cousins of Hetty Jane Owen.
