Charles Alfred Robinson (1861 - ????). He was a grocer’s counterman in 1881. In 1901,

The Laurel House, St. Peter’s Road,
where Charles Alfred Robinson lived, and now a Dental
Surgery.
A word of explanation about St Peter Intra, Kent since
it recurs repeatedly in this line:
By the Local Government Act of
1894, the civil part of the parish called St Peter's intra has been formed
into an urban district, and is divided into two wards-Broadstairs and St
Peter's -each returning six members to the district council, while that part
called St Peter's extra has a parish council consisting of five members.
Those
Robinsons still living in St. Peter’s, Kent in 1916 may or may not have noted
the birth on nearby Albion Road on the 9th July of Edward Heath,
future Prime Minister, the son of a carpenter and builder, and maid, with
whom there is every chance that they would have been at least acquainted.

A wonderful picture from the Hollister Ancestry web-page of Olive Maud Robinson (1887-1966). She was the daughter of Sydney Herbert Robinson, the second son of Charles Richard Robinson, and hence a second cousin of Hetty Jane Owen. She married George Sheen Ryder in Finchley in 1907. Almost immediately thereafter they emigrated to Australia and settled in New South Wales, and subsequently South Australia. In the photo below, copied from the same source, Olive Maud Robinson is on the far right – Stan and Max Ryder, her sons are in the middle. They were great-great-grandsons of Charles John Robinson and Harriett Wombwell, and second cousins of Harold and Olwen Eldridge. The photo was taken in the Adelaide Hills, South Australia. |
