George Powell Robinson (1827-1897) was the second son of Charles John
Robinson and Harriett Wombwell. His middle name may come from Charles’ sister,
Eleanor, who married into the Powell family, but as discussed earlier, the
classic naming convention of the era would actually have designated to the
second son the name of his grandfather’s wife - Powell. Either way, in 1851, both George
Powell Robinson, and his elder brother, Charles Richard Robinson, were ship
joiners in the docks. George married
Elizabeth Augusta Furneaux in 1853 in Limehouse, and continued to live there
and work as a ship’s joiner and carpenter into the last decade of the century.
George and Elizabeth had nine children, first cousins x1 removed of Hetty Jane Owen. The lines are as

15, he was an assistant clerk still living with his family. Frederick married
three times to: i) Margaret Ann Richardson, ii) to: Kate Louise Bradley, and
iii) to Lucy Lane Tothill. In 1891, he was living in Islington and working as
a cashier and living next door to the Bradley family. Three of Harriett
Wombwell and Charles John Robinson’s later family were to marry into the
Bradley family. The 1911 census records him as a clerk living in Hackney.

William John Robinson (1857–????). He was baptised
in Ratcliff (Road) in 1857.

in 1859. Nothing more is known.

after giving birth to an illegitimate son, who was moved in with his

Riding of Yorkshire.

Ernest Edward Robinson (1886-1968). Ernest spent his
early life with his grandparents. In the 1911 census he is a telephone
exchange inspector living with his grandmother in Limehouse. Sometime shortly
after, probably before 1914, he emigrated to Montreal, Quebec, Canada. His
wife was Elizabeth Victoria Cope (1895-1992) who was originally from
Killyleagh in Ireland.
